Position Responsibilities:

•    Execute day to day electrical high voltage system related PM & CM jobs.

•    Follow maintenance & repair procedures in a safe manner.

•    Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high voltage switchgear installed at power plant instruments as a part of the power plant maintenance program.

•    Effectively utilize the CMMS for notification and workorder completion along with feedback & failure reporting in CMMS.

•    Keeps record of all spares available and points timely spares deficiency.

•    Work closely with power plant persons to evaluate both routine and emergency work. 

•    Maintains routine and special calibration tools.

•    Suggest improvements against failures.

•    Do risk assessment & JSA of routine and nonroutine jobs.

•    Initiate PTW and get approved from approving authority before job start and close PTW as per procedure after job completion

•    Execution of PM/CM jobs in a timely and safely manner.

•    Workorder completion history logging in CMMS system.

•    Record keeping of all available and required critical spares.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Diploma in Electrical discipline / Associate Engineering 

Minimum Experience:

•    10 years of experience in power plant HV maintenance 

Job-Specific Skills: 

•    Must have hands on experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of high voltage switchgear, relays, high voltage breakers, HV transformers, current transformers, potential transformers, HV substation, HV cables, ups and battery chargers for HV system, generators. Gas turbines.

•    Ability to effectively use power plant documentation such as PFD’s, P&ID, electrical drawings, troubleshooting manuals, job specific procedures. 

•    Have experience in relay coordination and protection system installed at HV switchgear.

•    Ability to perform testing and configuration of different functions of protection relays. 

•    Daily Job plan execution in CMMS, manpower management, spare ordering, and inventory management. 

•    Ability to handle emergency like ESD and restoring the power supply in case of breakdown, performing root cause analysis of breakdown and suggesting control measures to avoid breakdown and ensure maximum plant availability. 

•    Conversant with power plant Start-up & Shutdown Sequence and Interlocks. 

•    Ability to communicate in English.
