Job title: Mechanical IA (Inspection & Assurance)

QA/QC Manager / Mechanical Superintendent
Job Objective:
Perform inspection and assurance activities on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations at oil & gas sites. Support project quality objectives through thorough verification and continuous improvement practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspection and verification of mechanical equipment, piping, and systems during fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
- Monitor contractors’ work to ensure adherence to quality and safety requirements.
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports and non-conformance reports (NCRs) when required.
- Witness and verify mechanical tests, including hydrostatic, pneumatic, and functional tests.
- Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, and HSE teams to address quality-related issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Assist in reviewing and approving mechanical work procedures and method statements.
- Support final acceptance, handover, and system turnover processes by verifying mechanical completion.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement on site through training and awareness.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical inspection and assurance, preferably at oil & gas sites.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, and related standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
- Certification in inspection (e.g., CSWIP, API 510/570, ASNT Level II) is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
- Familiarity with HSE practices and quality management systems in oil & gas environments.
- Ability to work under pressure and in challenging site conditions.

- Timely completion of inspection activities as per project schedule.
- Accuracy and completeness of inspection documentation and reports.
- Effective closure of non-conformance and corrective actions.
