Job title: Electrical Technician

Location: Anbar / Akkaz Oilfield

Reports Directly To:

Electrical Supervisor / Electrical Engineer

Objectives

▪ Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.

▪ Support safe and reliable operation of electrical assets as per standards and procedures.

▪ Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies during all electrical works.

▪ Provide technical support during commissioning and shutdown activities.

▪ Assist in maintaining accurate documentation and reports related to electrical activities.

Activities

▪ Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections of electrical systems (e.g., motors, panels, switchgear, transformers).

▪ Execute corrective maintenance and troubleshooting of faults in electrical equipment.

▪ Support cable pulling, termination, and glanding activities.

▪ Assist in installation and testing of new electrical equipment and systems.

▪ Check and calibrate protection relays and other electrical safety devices.

▪ Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

▪ Prepare and maintain job reports, maintenance logs, and equipment history.

▪ Follow work permit systems and comply with isolation and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.

▪ Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, testing devices, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

▪ Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to supervisors immediately.

▪ Support commissioning and start-up activities as required.

Prior Expertise / Experience Required

▪ Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field.

▪ Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and installation, preferably in oil & gas or industrial plants.

▪ Good knowledge of electrical systems, protection devices, and safety standards.

▪ Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and technical documents.

▪ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

▪ Knowledge of national and international electrical codes and standards.
