Rig Coach

Job Description:

Rig Coach 

  1. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to the Rig Manager or Operations Manager. 

  1. FUNCTION:

Responsible for all operations on the rig. He assists the rig manager in managing the Rig as a profit and performance independent unit while delivering value Drilling services to the customers. The Rig performances shall exceed the industry benchmarks and operating costs shall be controlled and minimized while developing employee job satisfaction at all levels.

  1. QUALIFICATION /EXPERIENCE

Has accumulated at least 15 years of experience in Rig Operations. He shall have completed all the training required for the position. He shall have an experience of Assistant Rig Superintendent for at least 2 years Must be able to understand the “multi-disciplinary” aspect of conducting Business at Integrated Project Management – Rig Management and be familiar with all the Management disciplines: Technical Support, Procurement, Financial, Personnel and Marketing management. He must be familiar with the Company “IT” latest standards and be computer literate. He must have good communication skills.

He shall participate in the QHSE programs of the company; promote QHSE as an integral part of the day-to-day work, always meeting the minimum QHSE company standards.

  1. GENERAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:

QHSE

  • 100% compliance with features of QHSE plan for the year
  • Hold and conduct weekly safety meetings
  • Ensure that Health & Safety policies are communicated to and understood by all rig crewmembers.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the rig; supervise all drills.
  • Investigate all safety incidents and provide management with corrective measures.
  • Communicate through pre-tower / toolbox meetings.
  • Liaise with all department heads to discuss safe daily operations.
  • Direct well control operations and other emergencies.
  • Oversee the maintenance of a sanitary living environment, procedures and facilities for food storage, handling and preparation.
  • Oversee rig medical operations.
  • Oversee rig communication

Technical and Operations

  • Supervise drilling.
  • Supervise the testing and checking of equipment and systems.
  • Organize and supervise tests of the well.
  • Supervise the use and operation of the BOP and other associated equipment. 
  • Supervise the application of appropriate well control measures.
